OBSERVATION:
Many candidates were unable to answer questions 1 correctly and performed poorly. The expected answers for 1a are:
mercerization: A chemical treatment applied to cotton fibres or fabrics to make them lustrous.
scotchguard: It is a chemical treatment given to a fabric to make it stain resistant.
mordant: An inorganic oxidant that makes dyes fix well in fabrics.

In question 1c, candidates were not able to answer it correctly. The different types of fabrics produced from linen are damask, dress linen, crash, sheeting.
In questions 1d, the expected examples of fabrics produced from yarn are voile, organza, chiffon, satins, net. Candidates performed poorly in question 1.
