Observation

This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was very poor.  Candidates misconstrued this question to table tennis instead of Tennis, they wrote wrong answers such as ping pong/egg, table tennis bat, tennis table and table tennis net and in (ii) candidates also missed the track by writing wrong answers such as West Africa Tennis championship.  Africa Tennis championship.  The Nigeria Tennis Federation.  In part (b) candidates also missed the track by writing wrong answers such as serve can server from the right court only, a served ball from inside the court can bounce once and go into opponent’s court, from the base line, server can serve out ball which if touched by opponent is good a served ball can land anywhere in opponent’s court.

-           sportswear (e.g. socks, towel, short, shirt, skirt, head band and hand band)

(ii)      TYPES OF GAMES IN A TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP
-           singles game
-           doubles game
-           mixed doubles

(b)        SERVICE RULES IN TENNIS GAME
-           the receiver/opponent must be ready
-           the ball must be tossed with a free hand
-           the ball must be struck with racket before it touches the ground
-           the ball must land in the correct service court of the opponent
-           the ball must not touch the net before crossing over
-           the ball must be served from behind/base line
-           in case of a let, the server shall re-serve
