The candidates’ weaknesses include their inability to:
- cover the WAEC syllabus
- express themselves in simple English language
- distinguish between topics involving “athletics” and “games”
- name athletic events in which a tie could occur during a competition
- state advantages of using starting block during competitions in athletics
- list parts of a tennis court
- state differences between a badminton racket and a tennis racket
- name pieces of equipment used for playing racket games
- name traditional sporting activities
- state features of the Modern Olympic Games
- name types of physical handicaps that require adapted physical education programme
- name the types of skeleton
- state differences between the processes of breathing in and breathing out
- name the type of joint found at the elbow, knees, shoulder and hip
- explain the term pulse rate
- state factors that affect pulse rae
- give reasons why the All Africa Games was established
- define bye
- state the difference between a bye and a seeding in a tournament
The following remedies were suggested to overcome these weakness:
- candidates should improve their daily expression either in writing or speaking English language
- candidates should cover WAEC syllabus in preparation for the examination
- candidates should distinguish between athletics, ball games, racket game and gymnastics candidates should also improve in the mystery of subject terminologies
