Observation
ÂThis question was well attempted by the candidates. The candidates’ experience and exposure to procedures, routine and practical in poultry production were being tested. Most candidates were able to answer question 3(a)(i) correctly. However, majority of the candidates performed poorly in stating the precautions observed when using specimen P (Wood-shavings). The candidates performed very well in answering questions 3(d) by correctly stating the methods used in maintaining specimen R (Spade). The expected answers include:

- Avoid use of wet/mouldy wood shavings
- Avoid using naked fire source where wood shaving is used
- Avoid ammonia build up by replacing regularly
- Avoid uneven distribution of wood sharing
