Observation

This was a popular question. All the candidates who attempted it understood the demands of the question; they performed creditably well and scored high marks especially in the (a) part where they were able to give a vivid definition of responsible parenthood. However, some candidates limited their points solely to the functions of parents at home. In other instances, some candidates deprived themselves of good marks in the (b) part as they were a bit deficient in explaining the importance of responsible parenthood to national development. (A)       Definition of Responsible Parenthood Responsible parenthood is the act or process of effective discharge of duties and obligations of upbringing/rearing of children/wards by parents/guardian.  

(B)       (i)         It breeds God fearing/morally upright children/positive values.

  1. It breeds children with good leadership/citizenship qualities.
  2. It nurtures children to know and perform their duties and obligations in the society
  3. It trains  children to abhor criminal acts/reduce crime in the society.
  4. It trains children to know their rights and how to secure them.
  5. It trains children to be patriotic/nationalistic.
  6. It trains children to be peace loving. 
  7. It trains children to uphold law and order/rule of law.
  8. It trains children to abhor social vices/problems.
  9. It trains children to be politically active
