CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

The obvious weaknesses of the candidates were with construction of sentences, punctuations, spellings, use of tenses and poor presentation of answers. Also, in question 5(a), 5(b) and 2(b) which had to do with tools and materials, candidates that attempted the question scored below average. It clearly shows that most of the candidates were unable to differentiate between tools and materials.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES TO OVERCOME CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

1. The teachers should be encouraged to devote special attention to research and the teaching of the subject.
2. Relevant books should be made available to schools.
3. They need to familiarise themselves with the proper method of answering questions.
