The question was not popular with the candidates as majority of them avoided it. The few that attempted the question performed woefully because they were unable to adduce sufficient reasons why the nationalists criticized the constitution. The overall performance in the question was bad.
Some of the points the candidates left out in their answers included:
inclusion of chiefs in the legislature did not allow the participation of elite;
limited franchise;
the constitution retained veto powers of the Governor;
Regional Assemblies had limited powers;
opposition to the nominated members in the Legislature, etc.
