This was a popular question. The performance of the candidates who answered it was good as they understood its demands. However, some candidates did not score good marks in the (b) part because of skimpy answers. The candidates were expected to provide the following answers to the question:

9. To increase increase investment in human resource development.


10. The enhancement of standard of living of the people of Africa.


11. Promotion of sound economic management and people centred development.


12. Development of new partnership with the industrialized countries and multilateral institutions.


13. To achieve and sustain an average rate of GDP growth of 7% per annum for 15 years.


14. To strengthens Africa’s capacity to mobilize external resources for its development.


15. To ensure that the continent achieves the agreed international development goals (MDGs and SDGs).


16. To accelerate the rate of integration in Africa.


17. It fought against economic exploitation by European firms.
