This was another very popular question but surprisingly, the candidates gave the general contributions of Islam instead of focusing on contributions of Islam to social and cultural developments in Nigeria. This made them to lose substantial marks. They were expected to explain the following points:

(i) knowledge of writing was brought;
(ii)  Arabic language was introduced;
(iii) Arabic architecture was brought;
(iv) Arabic mode of dressing came to Nigeria.
(v) increased the knowledge of Nigerians about some parts of the Islamic world;
(vi) celebration of Islamic rites and ceremonies e.g. Eid-el-Fitri, Eid-el Kabir;
(vii) use of Islamic calendar;
(viii) adoption of Islamic names
(ix)  introduction of Islamic laws e.g. Sharia.
