Observation

This was a fairly popular question and was widely attempted by the candidates. The points involved were understood by the candidates but gave very brief answers without elaboration. Some went wide to raise factors that and nothing to do with the reasons for military rules. Generally, candidates were expected to mention the following points in order to get good marks:

(i)  Lack of unity and trust among politicians.
(ii)  Ethnicity.
(iii) General discontent among people.
(iv)  External influence.
(v)  Political ambition of members of the Armed Forces.
(vi)  High cost of living/inflation.
(vii)  Low salaries and wages.
(viii) Nepotism practiced by people in power.
(ix) Corrupt practices by public servants.
