This was a popular question. Many of the candidates were able to state how the conflict between the two characters were resolved.

The following points were expected from the candidates:

• Raina’s feelings for Bluntschli in spite of her romantic idealization of Sergius.
• Louka’s revelation about Raina’s secret love escapades to Sergius who challenges Bluntschli.
• Bluntschili’s return of Major Petkoff’s coat and his confrontation with Sergius.

Candidates’ performance in this question was fair.
