Observation

This question was attempted by few candidates and their performance was poor.  Candidates

could not skillfully demonstrate approach, hand placement, take-off, leg position and landing in the performance of astride vault due to non – participation of the candidates in physical education  or practical class.

 

However, expected answers are as follows:

 

Activity 9:  Astride vault

 

1.         The activity will be on the basis of process evaluation only.

 

2.         Three trials are allowed and the best trial is recorded as the score.

All performance will be judge according to the following rubrics:

 

Approach

(i)         short run

(ii)        towards the direction of the apparatus

 

Hand Placement

(i)         place the hands on the apparatus

(ii)        shoulder width apart

 

Take-off

(i)         take-off on both feet

(ii)        not too close/far from the apparatus

 

Leg Position

(i)         spread the legs sideways

(ii)        keep legs straight/do not bend the knee

Landing

(i)         land on the balls of the feet

(ii)        bend knees/give-in while landing.
