This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was fair.
In part (a)(i) candidates correctly named facilities in athletics although, some
missed the track by writing flag, whistle, official record board, judges and javelin as
facilities in athletics and in (a)(ii) candidates correctly named missile used in athletics.
Few candidates also missed their way by writing pole vault, cards and flag as missiles in
athletics. In part (b) candidates also correctly state events that require the use of measuring
tape in athletics although, few wrongly stated relay race, tack event, field event, football and
volleyball as events that require the use of measuring tape in athletics.
However, the expected answers are as follows:
