    (b)        State two differences between a service and a smash in badminton game  (4 marks)

Observation

This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was poor. 
              In part (a) candidates misinterpreted the question and wrote wrong answers such as the
            movement of the ball is           not known, server makes two consecutive faulty services
            opponent lays his head on the court as instances when receiver scores appoint in a table 
            tennis game.  In part (b) few candidates that attempted the question fumbled and wrote
            wrong answers such as serving is done as you like, smashing is done as you like, service
            take place from any point of the court and smashing is done only from back court,
            service is done outside the court while smashing is done while standing at ease

            The expected answers are follows:

3(a)      INSTAINCESS WHEN A RECEIVER WINS  A POINT IN THE GAME OF TABLE TENNIS
                       
            If the server

            -           serves the ball out/plays ball out during rally
            -           is unable to make a successful service
            -           touches the table in an attempt to return the ball
            -           allow a returned ball to bounce twice on his side of the table.
            -           touches the table/net with his free hand
            -           strikes the ball before it bounces on his side of the table
            -           returned the ball to the opponent without crossing to the opponent without crossing
                        to the opponent’s table/returns ball to the net
