(b)       Outline four ways of curbing violence during sports competitions.   [4 marks]
(c)       Mention three qualities of a healthy person.  [3 marks]

Observation

 

This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was good. In part (a) (i) many candidates gave a good definition of violence in sports. In part (b) they did well in it.  In part (c)  they were able to mention qualities of a healthy person.
The expected answers are as follow:
(a) Definition of sports violence       
-sports violence is a display of anti-social behaviours/named which is intended to hurt somebody physically/socially during sports competition/programmes.
           
(b) Ways of curbing violence during sports competition
            -effective crowd control/erecting barrier
            -encouragement of fair play
            -good officiating/obeying rules of the games
            -provision of adequate security at the venue/use of law enforcement agents/named
            -ban selling of liquor/drugs/named around sports arena
            -public enlightenment/free flow of information/use of public address system
            -provision of adequate facilities
            -provision of adequate sports equipment
            -adequate sitting arrangement
            -provision of enough exits to avoid stampeding
            -sanction those who violate the rules and regulations
                       
(c)  Qualities of a healthy person
            -ability to perform daily activities/named
            -free from germs/diseases/named
            -ability to cope with stress/less fatigue
            -good physical appearance/physical fitness
            -social/emotional/mental balance

            -adaptation to any condition/environment
