Observation

            This question was unpopular and was also avoided by some of the candidates. The few ones who attempted it did not perform well; they failed to provide the right answers to the questions. They were only able to mention the Atlantic Charter and the influence of the UNO. Yet, their inability to discuss the few points raised earned them low marks.  The candidates were expected to write the following points as their answers to the question:

  1. The influence of nationalist activities in British West Africa;
  2. The independence of Algeria and Ghana inspired the French colonies in West Africa;
  3. The survival of Guinea as  a nation – state after independence;
  4. The willingness of President Charles de Gaulle to grant constitution reforms to French colonies;
            The Atlantic Charter signed by Britain, France and the U.S.A.
