Observation

This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was very good. 

In part (a)(i) and (ii) candidates correctly mentioned types of carry in javelin throw and skills in javelin throw.

In part (b) (i) and (ii) candidates correctly stated the procedure for resolving a tie in the triple jump event and sequence phases involved in the execution of a long jump event.

In part (c) candidates correctly named materials used by the officials during an athletics meet. 

In part (d) candidates also explained the following terms, quartet and missile as used in athletics.

- if tie remains and it concerns the first position, the athletes with tie jump again unit tie is resolved/if tie remains and it does not concern the first position tie is allowed to remain.
