    (d) State two features of a marathon race.        [2 marks]

    (e)  Name five phases in javelin throw.         [5 marks]

Observation

This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was very good. 
In part (a) candidates correctly placed the athletes in the position each finished at the end of the event. In (ii) candidate also correctly mentioned what X represented in the table, In (iii) candidates also correctly mentioned the number of athletes that had no jump during the event.

In part (b) candidates correctly stated instances in which an athlete would be disqualified in a 100 m hurdle race. In part (c) candidates correctly listed types of starts in athletics and groups of track events. 

In part (d) candidates cold not correct state features of a marathon race.

In part (e) candidates correctly named phases in javelin throw.
