Observation

(a) Candidates were expected to describe a Night Market in their towns.  Some candidates mistook ‘ọja alẹ́’ for just any market and failed to limit themselves to describing a night market.

(b) This is a narrative essay on the coronation ceremony in the candidate’s town. Some Candidates who chose this question performed fairly well, except for those who lack narrative ability; some of the candidates failed to include the name of the king and the town in their essays.

(c) This is an argumentative essay tasking candidates to argue for or against the topic private schools are better than public schools. Some of the candidates wrote in favour of one side of the topic thereby reducing their chances of scoring reasonable marks in this question.

(d)  This is an expository essay on the topic ‘If I become the Governor of my State’.   Many of the Candidates wrote excellently on what they would want to achieve as Governor of their State.

(ẹ) This an informal letter on the high cost of food stuffs in the country. The
candidates who chose this question used the correct formal features of an informal letter  but some of them dwelt on lack of money to buy food stuffs instead of focusing on the causes of high cost of food stuffs. Most candidates tackled this topic very well.
