Observation

(a)This is an explanatory essay which requires the candidates to write on Mechanical work. Most candidates could only write a few lines to explain the topic. .

(b) . This is a descriptive essay on candidates’ town. Most of the candidates who answered this question could not describe their town as it is expected of them. Some of them mistook their state for their town

(c)This is an expository essay on drought. Few of the candidates who attempted this question understood the topic  

(d)  This is an argumentative essay. Candidates were required to write in favour or against the topic military government is better than civilian government. Some of the candidates dogmatically wrote in favour of one side of the topic without mentioning its cons thereby reducing their chances of scoring reasonable marks in this question.

(ẹ)Candidates were expected to write a formal letter to their Local Government Chairman reporting refuse dumps in their locality. Most of the candidates who attempted this question tackled this topic very well
