1. CANDIDATES’ STRENGTHS

(1) Letter writing mechanisms especially the formal letter.
(2) Adhering to rubrics, e.g. in selecting questions from the sections of the paper.
(3)Mastery of the content of the set texts. Some candidates wrote very good and standard essays that were made attractive with the use of appropriate proverbs and idioms. Also, candidates’ performance in grammar, culture and literature for those candidates who studied the recommended texts was commendable.
