The generality of the candidates that attempted this question showed a partial knowledge of the question. They could not give the complete narrative of the passage, thus making them to have low scores. They were expected to mention points like:
(i) If a man does not abide in me, he is cast forth as a branch and withers;
(ii) If you abide in me and my words abides in you, ask whatever you will and it shall be done to you;
(iii) As my father has loved me, so have I loved you.
The (b) point of the question did not help matter as candidates could not write the
significant of the teaching which among others are:
(i) Christians are called to be fruitful;
(ii) That unfaithfulness displeases the Lord;
(iii) God’s word enables us to abide in him.
