Weakness & Remedies
Candidates’ weaknesses include their inability to:
- state differences between pole vault and long jump events
- draw and label correctly a javelin
- place athletes in their positions in long jump event
- list rules guiding the pole vault event in athletics
- state safety precautions that must be observed during a javelin competition
- state reasons why it is desirable to warm-up before an athletic event
- state instances that could lead to award of the penalty corner during a hockey game
- explain back stick and bully in the game of hockey
- state duty of umpire in an athletic meet
- explain the term box work in gymnastics.
The following remedies were suggested to overcome these weaknesses:
- cultivation of good reading habit
- candidates should endeavour to engage in games and sports during leisure time
- candidates should visit to stadia, sport centres, recreation centres to improve their knowledge on the subject
- candidates should familiarize themselves with rules that guide games and sports.
