A. The candidate was expected to write a letter to his brother, telling him of the level of development that is evident in their village now.

This is an informal letter and the few candidates that attempted this question were unable to use the correct format.

B. The candidate was asked to write on the vices practiced in the community and their consequences.

Candidates that attempted this question did well.

C. In this question, candidates were asked to write their argument on a debate topic: Igbos spend a lot of money on marriage ceremonies. They were expected to back up their stand with good points.

Many candidates attempted this question.

D.Candidates were requested to write a story that ends with this proverb: ‘Ebe onye bi ka o na-awachi’ which means a man protects where he earns from.

Few candidates answered this question probably because they did not understand the meaning of the proverb.

E. The candidate in his capacity as the senior prefect was expected to write a welcome address to be delivered to the Commissioner of Education. He was also expected to mention the needs of the school.

Very few candidates attempted this question.
